Communication Expectations
- Most administrative memos will be sent electronically. It is crucial to check your emails at least twice each day. If staff members are unable to receive emails, your administrator is to be contacted immediately, notify Mr. Artley in the media center, and check with a PLT teacher daily for updates.
- All faculty and staff will have an extension and a voice mailbox set up at the beginning of the school year. Please check with Steve Artley for your extension number and initial access to voicemail procedures.
- Teachers will NOT be interrupted during instructional times for telephone calls. All calls will be forwarded to voice mailboxes. All teachers will have a voice mailbox set up at the beginning of the year.

Teacher-Parent Communication
Teachers shall maintain a log documenting all parent communications that should be presented to their department administrator upon request. Early and regular parent contact is encouraged. All parents of your homeroom students should be contacted prior to Open House on Monday, September 9th. During this phone call, please personally invite each parent to Open House. Parent conferences may be called by individual teachers, parents, counselors, or administrators. Teachers are expected to participate in parent conferences and bring required documentation of grades and assignments. All written communication with parents must be in English AND Spanish. A competent, adult interpreter must be used in all conversations with Spanish-speaking parents. Every effort must be made to locate an interpreter for all other non-English speaking parents.
